Scott’s Story:

Scott’s athleticism defined his life, from playing soccer, baseball, and football as a kid to golfing, mountain biking, and racing dirt track cars as an adult. However, just before his 49th birthday, knee pain led to a diagnosis of arthritis in both knees. During this time, Scott noticed his left leg dragging during walks and his flip-flop frequently falling off. This prompted further medical tests, eventually leading to his diagnosis of ALS on May 10, 2018, at Barrow Neurological Institute.

Scott and his wife, Patti, faced this diagnosis with determination. On the eve of their 50th birthdays and 30th wedding anniversary, they vowed to fight ALS and raise awareness. Despite his diagnosis, Scott’s symptoms remain limited to foot drop, and the disease is progressing slowly. Surrounded by supportive family and friends, Scott is dedicated to raising funds for the ALS Foundation to aid in discovering treatments and a cure.

Scott’s journey inspires hope and resilience, and his family’s efforts ensure that others affected by ALS have a brighter future.
