The ALS community has secured a major advocacy win: the Department of Defense’s ALS Research Program (ALSRP) will remain funded at $40 million for fiscal year 2025. At a time when other Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs faced devastating cuts, protecting ALS research funding is no small feat. It’s a meaningful step forward in the fight against this disease.

This funding is especially critical because veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population.
