A Win for ALS Research—Thanks to You

We’re celebrating an important victory—and it’s because of you.

The ALS community has secured a major advocacy win: the Department of Defense’s ALS Research Program (ALSRP) will remain funded at $40 million for fiscal year 2025. At a time when other Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs faced devastating cuts, protecting ALS research funding is no small feat. It’s a meaningful step forward in the fight against this disease.

This achievement was made possible by the relentless advocacy of people like you—people who raise their voices, share their stories, and demand better for those living with ALS.

This funding is especially critical because veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population. The Department of Defense’s continued investment in ALS research not only supports those who have served our country, but also fuels the innovation and discovery that will benefit everyone affected by ALS.

But our work is not finished.

We must continue pushing for policies that prioritize access to care, accelerate treatments, and uphold the dignity of people living with ALS and their families. One powerful way you can help? Stay engaged. Stay informed. Keep advocating.

We’re proud of this win—but we know it’s only the beginning.

Thank you for standing with us. Let’s keep going.
